Top 10 Beaches in Andaman Islands to Visit in 2026

Beaches, Islands & Attractions

The Andaman Islands are all about a simple promise: glass-clear water, sand so fine it squeaks underfoot, coral gardens only a few strokes offshore, and sunsets that paint the entire sky crimson. Whatever kind of honeymoon, family trip, diving and snorkeling activity you want, there’ll be a stretch of coast here with your name on it.

Here are eleven beaches worth planning your vacation around, from world-famous Radhanagar in Swaraj Dweep (Havelock) to the calm morning sands of Neil Island. If you’d rather have the ferries, hotels, and transfers arranged for you, explore our Andaman and Nicobar tour packages and choose an itinerary to suit your dates.

1. Radhanagar Beach – Swaraj Dweep (Havelock)

Radhanagar is the one that put the Andaman Islands on the international map. Rated the greatest beach in Asia by Time in 2007, it's still featuring in TripAdvisor's top-ten lists worldwide. Plus, it's got a Blue Flag badge for its clean water and responsible management, so you can swim here with genuine confidence. A broad length of powder-white sand — 40-50 meters from trees to water — backed by towering bulletwood forest that provides wonderful shade. Get there an hour before dusk, and you’ll understand the hype.

Ideal for: couples, family, photography, sunsets.
Do not miss the golden hour and gentle stroll on the woodland route behind the beach.

2. Elephant Beach, Swaraj Dweep

If you’re here for the underwater world, Elephant Beach is your beach. The shallows are quiet and crystal-transparent, with coral and reef fish so near that even non-swimmers may float over them in a life jacket. It’s the island’s centre for snorkeling, sea walks, banana-boat excursions, and glass-bottom boats. From Havelock jetty, you can take a short speedboat ride (20-30 minutes) or walk a forest trail, although the finest coral is often to the left of the beach and the mornings have the cleanest water.

Best for: snorkeling, watersports, and first-time explorers.
Don't miss an early snorkel run before the day-trip boats arrive.

3. Kala Pathar Beach – Swaraj Dweep

White sand extends for two kilometers, and the polished dark boulders scattered around give Kala Pathar (meaning 'black stone') its name. It is quieter than the famed neighbour. The tree line is close to the sea, so you can stay in the shade while still enjoying the beach atmosphere. No water activities, few stores, and absolute serenity. This spot is a favourite for sunrises, lazy mornings, and photographers.

Best for: dawn, photography, relaxed walks.
Don’t miss: iconic Kala Pathar image with sea framed through low forest canopy.

Beaches, reefs, and island-hopping rolled into one smooth, value-friendly trip — the beaches on this list, minus the logistics headache.

4. Laxmanpur Beach, Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep)

Laxmanpur is a long, gently sloping beach built for sunsets. When the tide draws back, it leaves small pools studded with tiny fish, crabs, and shells—youngsters love to poke around them—and a short walk gets you to Neil's famed Natural Bridge rock structure. The water is quiet and shallow, so it's an ideal, family-friendly location to wrap up the day.

This beach is perfect for sunsets, families with children, and couples.
Don’t miss timing your visit to low tide so you may stroll out to the Natural Bridge.

5. Bharatpur Beach (Neil Island) - Shaheed Dweep

Bharatpur, just next to the Neil Island pier, is the active beach of the island: quiet, shallow, clear water rimmed with coral and a bustling lineup of glass-bottom boats, snorkeling, and banana-boat rides. It's so simple to access and safe to wade into, it's excellent for families and anybody dipping a toe into the water for the first time.

Best for: families, first-time visitors, and water sports.
Don't miss the glass-bottom boat if you'd prefer to view the reef without getting your feet wet.

6. Natural Bridge - Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island)

A natural rock arch in Laxmanpur, formed by wind and waves over ages, not a sandy beach. Visit during low tide when the water recedes, revealing pools of rock teeming with coral, starfish, and tiny sea life. It’s a short, satisfying climb and one of Neil’s most photographed spots.

Best for: nature, geology, and photography.
Don’t miss it: only during low tide. Check with your hotel for the timings on that day.

7. Corbyn’s Cove Beach, Port Blair

The nearest beach to the capital is Corbyn’s Cove, a half-moon bay fringed with palms, a short drive from the city center of Port Blair (formally renamed Sri Vijaya Puram in 2024). It's the easiest alternative for a short swim, jet-ski spin or coconut-water respite, with cafes and a modest war monument close by. It might become crowded at the weekends with local families, but that's all part of its bright, laid-back character.

Best for: Short getaways, laid back water sports, easy access from the city.
Don’t miss: Combine with a Port Blair touring morning.

8. Wandoor Beach — South Andaman

The entry point to Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park is Wandoor. The beach itself is quiet, sheltered by trees and significantly less busy than Corbyn's Cove. Boats go out from here to protected islands like Jolly Buoy or Red Skin (only one is open at a time to allow the reefs to heal, so check which one before you go). This is the selection for anybody passionate in coral and marine life.

Best for: marine life, nature enthusiasts, guided snorkeling.
Don’t miss a glass-bottom or snorkeling tour of the marine park while it’s open.

Fancy a fuss-free island break? — Andaman Coastal Crusade (Budget)
Havelock, Neil, and Port Blair highlights are sorted into one simple, wallet-friendly trip—ideal for first-timers who want the big beaches without planning every ferry themselves.

It's our most popular pick for smart Andaman budget travel.

9. Chidiya Tapu – South Andaman

Chidiya Tapu, the 'Bird Island' as it's nicknamed, is the sunset version of Corbyn's Cove, a short drive from the city where the forest meets the sea and the birds is as much of an attraction as the sea vista. Arriving in the late afternoon means you may enjoy a sunset over the mangroves – a real highlight for nature-lovers and photographers.

Best for: Birdwatching, sunsets, picture ops.
Don’t miss: the sunset point above the cliffs of the shore.

10. Sitapur Beach, Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island)

Sitapur is the morning beach at the easternmost point of Neil Island – a laid-back, gently curving beach that’s considerably calmer than the busy shoreline of Neil. If you arrive early, you typically have the beach nearly to yourself as the sun rises over the Andaman Sea.

Best for: sunrises, peaceful mornings, and photography.
Don't miss an early start to catch the first light before anybody else is there.

When to visit

The best time is from October to May. The sky are bright, the sea is tranquil enough to enjoy any water activity as well as ferry rides and the temperature is comfortable in the mid 20s to low 30s. The busiest and coolest window is December–January, so book hotels and ferries well ahead. February-March still has the wonderful weather but less visitors. April-May is warmer but still quiet and ideal for the water.

The monsoon (June–September) brings rain and rougher waves – certain boat tours are suspended for safety and water sports may be suspended on rainy days – but you'll discover calmer beaches and cheaper accommodation prices. And if you do go then, build in a cushion of a day or two in case your ship is rescheduled.

Quick tips for beach days

Beat the throng and the heat by visiting before 10am or after 4pm – it’s great for photography too! Bring reef safe sunscreen to preserve the coral. Bring your own drink and enough cash for the smaller beaches (cards and UPI are not guaranteed). Do not touch or stand on coral. For famous trips like Elephant Beach, reserve boats and water activities a day ahead, particularly during the December-January period. On Havelock, you can stay close to the sand at places like Seashell Resort Andaman, which is just a short walk from the beach.
